Webber,
no malice - 18 July 2010
Mark Webber says he holds no grudge against
Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel over the Silverstone
front wing affair, and never held the German responsible
for any part of the furore.
Webber was enraged last weekend when the latest
spec front wing was taken off his car and given
to Vettel after the latter's wing was damaged in
a practice failure - with the team justifying the
move on the grounds that Vettel was the better-placed
in the points at the time.
Vettel then used the new wing to beat Webber to
pole, though the Australian responded with a brilliant
win in the race - which he sardonically described
as "not bad for a number two driver" on the team
radio immediately afterwards.
Valentino
Rossi comeback - 18 July 2010
Valentino Rossi just missed out on a remarkable
podium finish on his return from a broken leg as
Dani Pedrosa breathed life back into the MotoGP
title race with victory in the German Grand Prix
at the Sachsenring.
A fourth-placed finish capped an amazing comeback
weekend from Rossi, who had qualified fifth, exactly
six weeks after suffering a compound fracture of
his right shin.
Rossi could not quite match the pace of Pedrosa
and Jorge Lorenzo, but the Fiat Yamaha rider was
more than a match for the rest of the field, enjoying
a superb battle with old foe Casey Stoner during
the closing laps fighting for third place.
Sebastien
Ogier's future - 14 Jul 2010
Ford team principal Malcolm Wilson has confirmed
current drivers Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala
will be retained next season - regardless of whether
Sebastien Ogier joins Ford or not.
Ogier has an offer from both Ford and his current
employer Citroen for next season and the Frenchman
is expected to decide in the next 10 days where
his immediate future lies.
Andrew
Jordan wins at Croft - 20 Jun 2010
Andrew Jordan celebrated his first win in
the British Touring Car Championship with victory
in race three at Croft in North Yorkshire.
Jordan led every lap from pole position in his Pirtek
Racing Vauxhall Vectra to finish well clear of the
field, headed by Tom Onslow-Cole's Team Aon Ford
Focus.
The 21-year-old race winner from Lichfield said:
"Two weeks ago at Oulton Park my day finished on
top of the barriers. Now I've finished on top of
the podium.
