Sunday, 18 July 2010 - Valentino Rossi Fourth

Valentino Rossi missed out on a podium finish on his return from a broken leg as Dani Pedrosa breathed life back into the MotoGP title race with victory in the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring.

A fourth-placed finish capped an amazing comeback weekend from Rossi.

Valentino Rossi, who has only been able to walk around the paddock with a crutch, could not quite match the pace of title contenders Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo, but the Fiat Yamaha rider was more than a match for the rest of the field, enjoying a superb battle with old foe Casey Stoner during the closing laps trying for third place.

Friday, 09 July 2010 - Casey Stoner Move

It has been announced that as of the end of the 2010 season the Australian’s four-year association with Ducati will end. For the 2011 season Stoner will become a factory Honda rider.

Casey Stoner will ride for HRC next season after confirmation this morning (Friday, July 9th) that the 24 year-old Australian will end his association with Ducati, a relationship that lasted four years and delivered a MotoGP World Championship title in his first season with the Italian factory.

Ducati announced that after “four years of extraordinary collaboration” the final race of the 2010 season at Valencia on November 7th would signal the end of a partnership that started in 2007, the season in which the Desmosedici GP7 made its debut in the new 800cc category and in which Stoner won the MotoGP title.

Wednesday, 07 July 2010 - Valentino Rossi Testing

Valentino Rossi today rode a motorcycle for the first time since breaking his right leg at Mugello on 5th June.

Rossi rode a total of 26 laps at Misano on a YZF-R1 WSB machine, provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team, and recorded a best time of 1'38.200. Rossi did an initial run of 11 laps with a best time of 1'41.000, then a second run of 15 laps with a best time of 1'38.200.

The reigning World Champion was able to ride well but said he had some pain in his leg and his shoulder. He will now continue with an updated rehabilitation programme and make a decision within the next week as to whether he will ride at the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring, which is only in ten days time.
